Delete Your Account
You can delete your Propbase account and associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
Open the Propbase app and go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You’ll be asked to confirm. Deletion takes effect immediately.
Option 2 — By email
If you can’t access the app, email privacy@propbase.in from any address and include:
- Your registered mobile number (the number you signed up with);
- Your name and firm (if provided), to help us verify the account;
- The request to delete your account.
We acknowledge requests within 72 hours and complete deletion within 15 days, after verifying the number belongs to you.
What happens to your data
- Your profile and login are deleted: name, firm, mobile number and profile details. Your number is free to sign up again as a new account.
- Listings you posted or claimed are deactivated, and your name, firm and number are removed from them. Community-sourced listings you had claimed revert to unclaimed without restoring your number.
- Other members’ contact history: where someone viewed your contact, your name and number are replaced with “Deleted user” or the record is removed.
- Your requirements and your saved leads (contacts you viewed, your notes and deal stages) are deleted. We keep only an unattributed count that a contact was viewed.
- App usage records we store are kept for aggregate statistics only, with your account and device identifiers removed. We ask PostHog, our app analytics provider, to delete your analytics profile and its events; PostHog completes event deletion within about a week.
- Crash reports in Sentry carry a random account identifier, not your name or number, and are deleted automatically within 90 days.
- Feedback and listing reports you sent are kept for moderation, without a link to your account. Waitlist sign-ups for your number are deleted.
What we keep
- A hash of your mobile number. A hash is a code calculated from the number. We store the code, not the number, but the same number always gives the same code, so it still lets us recognise your number if it is used again. We keep it to prevent abuse, such as deleting and re-creating accounts to reset free limits, and use it for nothing else.
- Login-code request records (a hash of the number, the IP address and the device identifier) are kept for 7 days to stop abuse of login codes, then deleted. Feedback, report, waitlist and app-usage submissions leave a similar record (IP address and device identifier, no number; for website waitlist sign-ups, IP address and a hash of the number) for rate limiting, also deleted after 7 days.
- Anything else we must keep by law or for an open dispute. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Account deletion cannot be undone. You can always create a fresh account later by verifying your number again.
Removing a community-sourced listing
If a community-sourced listing shows your contact number and you don’t want an account, you can still request its removal — email privacy@propbase.in with the number and a link to or description of the listing.
